Planning a Web Site

Planning a Web Site

Web Pages and Web Sites

You would have browsed thousands of web sites by now. It is my duty to explain you in detail the technique behind the creating a web site. Every organization of any size ranging from business to schools ,and not profit making organizations own their own web site. Thousands of individuals have their own web sites. All the web pages which appear in the web are basically similar in construction. They are simply pages of text, graphics, and other objects with coded messages telling a browser how to display them. Some web pages can be opened in a word processor, and in fact many pages were created using word processors, with programmers writing the extra code.
The code is written in HTML ( HyperText Markup Language), and web pages are HTML files.
The FrontPage is a tool used to create web pages and hence you do not want to know the HTML since FrontPage writes the code for you.

Selecting Your Project
If you have decided to create a web site for your project work, you may already have an organization or individual in mind whom you are going to build the site. If not, you should look for a real user who would like you to build one for them.

There are important questions you need to ask before you embark on building a web site. The most important ones are:

1. Who is the target audience?
2. What is the site designed to accomplish?

The more clearly you focus your site on the answers to these two questions, the more successful your site is like to be.
